Magic Castle
Congratulations to our own Eleanor Szakacs for winning the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education for her work at Magic Castle. For more information, click here.
The Magic Castle is a free child-minding service for children 0-12 years of age, who have a family member undergoing treatment at Princess Margaret Hospital. Through Mothercraft, an early childhood educator provides an atmosphere of comfort and fun, allowing children to express themselves through play and creativity.
What do we provide?
We provide essential child care services for children whose loved-ones are undergoing cancer treatment at Princess Margaret Hospital. We help reduce stress and fear by assisting children with expressing emotions while increasing the understanding of cancer through play.
Magic Castle Children's Services
This service provides links to the community for referrals beyond our scope (such as intensive psychotherapy and home visits/consultation), as well as referrals to our own social work or psychology team for additional assistance for families with more complex needs.
