Consistency in Data Elements

Data Elements are a common set of service statistics meant to track services provided by Ministry of Children and Youth Services (MCYS) transfer payment agencies, including Ontario Early Years Centres. The data elements report such things as the numbers of children, parents and professionals served, the number of referrals made to other services, among other statistics.

The Community Data Group works with MCYS and the community to ensure the data elements required by agencies remain consistent and changes to these data elements are communicated to the agencies to promote streamlining of data collection. It is compulsory for all agencies who receive funding from MCYS to adhere to the data elements.

Data Elements are organized in a data dictionary and are reported on a quarterly basis to MCYS.
