Caring for Canada's Children
The Canadian Mothercraft Society is happy to report that Year 1 of our online professional development course for settlement workers - Caring for Canada's Children - was a great success. In 2009-2010, we offered 12 informative online lectures by leading academics and researchers to professionals working with newcomer families and focusing on issues for families with infants and young children under six years of age. All of the lectures are now archived and available for viewing by clicking on Presentation Archive / Archive de presentations in the left-side menu.
NEW: Year 2 of Caring for Canada's Children Webcast 1 on September 22 - TIME CHANGE
The time for the webcast on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 has been changed. Please join us from 1 to 3 pm on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 to explore the topic of "Building Cross-Cultural Competence".
Please note that times for all remaining webcasts from October 2010 to March 2011 will be delivered at their scheduled times from 12 to 2 pm.
NEW: Year 2 of Caring for Canada's Children to be Delivered Starting in September 2010!
With the continued support of Citizenship and Immigration Canada - Ontario Region, we are delighted to be able to bring you Year 2 of Caring for Canada's Children. These presentations will build on the material presented in Year 1 and will provide a more intensive exploration of some of the key issues surrounding immigration and settlement for families with children under the age of six years. The course will be taught by several of the presenters from last year and will include interactive learning opportunities. Those participants who complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion - Level 2 from Mothercraft College. The course is FREE and registration will begin in August 2010.
